I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of denim. I think I found them! For me, these Madewell Perfect Vintage Denim are indeed, perfect! Not too skinny and not too wide in the leg – this cut is exactly what I was looking for. The inseam and rise are also great. For reference, I’m 5’6″ with a long torso and shorter legs. I also went for my smaller size, as reviews said they run a bit big.
I wish they had the same style in a darker wash. I found a pair on Poshmark that I’m hoping will do the trick. TBD.
I decided to have a bit of “dress-up” fun and style them with three different occasions in mind: Date Night, Casual Work Day, and Weekend Vibes.
Date Night
You can’t go wrong with black when heading out for a cocktail or dinner on a Friday night. In this style I paired the jeans with a black suede block heel, this cropped v-neck black sweater, and a leopard print clutch for some added interest. I also added a bit of “pop” with some gold dangle earrings. For a jacket, I would probably wear my brown leather jack or camel peacoat.
Casual Work Day
My office is very casual when it comes to work attire, so I’m fortunate that I don’t have to get dressed up everyday. But, it is fun to play around with some semi-casual work outfits. I always feel better and more productive when I wear clothes that are a bit more elevated/tailored for the work day.
For this look, I paired the denim with a plain white button up, this J.Crew Blazer I snagged on significant discount a while back, these pointed-toe flats from Nordstrom Rack, and my trusty ABLE Mamuye Class Tote that is a true classic. I also added a dainty gold necklace and some gold stud earrings.
Weekend Vibes
Weekend vibes equals casual day out – coffee, library, maybe some antiquing. 🙂 This outfit is comfy and easy, but also a few steps up from your Saturday sweats.
For this style, I paired the denim with one of my favorite sweaters from Sezane. (It was a splurge, but I know it’s a classic for me and I’ll wear it for years to come.) My field jacket is several years old from J.Crew – a Christmas present that I still enjoy and get a lot of wear in. For the shoes, I’ve been loving these New Balance. The neutral color goes with so much in my wardrobe. My backpack is also from ABLE. (Note: I have gotten all of my ABLE bags at a discount – always be on the lookout for a sale!)
That’s my round up for styling these jeans. Which style did you like best? Do you have a favorite pair of denim? Leave your comments below.
